Laura directs the compliance program for the Investment Manager as an SEC registered investment adviser, which includes developing and enforcing compliance related policies and procedures and oversight of regulatory filings. She also oversees fund accounting requiring interaction with the Fund’s Administrator, prime brokers, counterparties and auditor on portfolio and shareholder transactions.
Prior to joining Silverback in 2012, Laura was the Chief Financial Officer at Belltower Advisors LLC, a global natural resources hedge fund, where she was also responsible for operations and compliance. Prior to Belltower, Laura was the Chief Financial Officer at Litespeed Management LLC where she managed all back-office operations, financial reporting and compliance functions for the $800 million event-driven hedge fund. She has also held key operational positions at various hedge funds where she built operational infrastructure and selected and negotiated with key service providers.
Prior to Laura’s hedge fund experience, she spent fourteen years at Commodities Corporation in operations management. She served in various roles in operations, including managing financial statement reporting, budget analysis and coordination of corporate audits.
Laura graduated from Trenton State College with a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting in 1979.
